Watch: Canadian Artist jev. Released Visuals For 'Black Benz'

It seems like the term “better late than never” is not taken more seriously than jev. takes it. The Canadian artist has just released the visuals to his 2022 song “Black Benz” The song was part of his full-length project The Color Grey. released back in July. The Color Gray. saw the “loner” rapper on several Spotify playlists, even landing him as the face of Spotify's Fresh Finds Playlist.
The Black Benz video is directed by Franklin Briceno, who is also the mind behind jev.’s “Black Sameri” video. Black Benz finds jev. living out his self-proclaimed monicker of 'the loner'. He sits solitary with a bottle of wine and some food as his surroundings change behind him. Black Benz is a euphoric song with a grand sample - think Kanye West circa My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. There is this specific piano cord that comes in so strong it almost masquerades as a jump scare. The irony of the song/video pairing is that the son is so rich it contrasts with the video since it seems the visuals practice minimalism. If you haven't streamed The Color Grey and you're unfamiliar with Black Benz, I suggest after watching the video below you double back and get familiar with the project as well as jev. Something tells me his impact on music is going to be around for a long time.
