Lute Presents: Gold Mouf

Yesterday Hip Hop was blessed with an album that almost did not happen. Dreamville’s own Lute dropped his debut album, Gold Mouf. Lute is a rapper out of North Carolina. He got his start as a member of the group Forever FC. In 2012 he branched out on his own and released his first solo mixtape West1996. A few years later, after a decision to quit rap in order to work and provide for his daughter he received a call from J Cole with an offer to sign the rapper in exchange for his continuous rap career. That was in 2015, since then he has gone on to take place in the Dreamville’s collective project Revenge of the Dreamers II. The project earned him a grammy nod and a platinum certification from his collaboration with J Cole and Dababy on the song “Under the Sun” He also released the highly anticipated follow up to his debut mixtape, West1996 pt. 2. Now, in 2021 he has released his debut album. The album features fellow label artist J.I.D, BJ the Chicago Kid, Westside Boogie and more. The tape has a real soulful feel to it. I recommend listening to this album at the end of a long hard day (pause) or on a Sunday Morning. Album is linked down below.. enjoy.
