Music You Missed Last Week
Every week we gather a list of music that you missed from the previous week in hope that you find your new favorite independent artist.
Diamond Cafe
“Sweet Cherry”
Canadian singer Tristan Thompson, more commonly known as Diamond Cafe has been making music professionally for almost 8 years now. His first official project (Breathe) was released back in 2017 since then he has released a slew of projects and singles. Recently he released the single “Sweet Cherry. The track blends his style of “synth-pop and R&B", think of what Michael Jackson would sound like if he was making music in 2024. ‘Sweet Cherry’ does come with a video that sees Cafe putting on a one-way show in the back of what looks like a classic car. ‘Sweet Cherry’ is the latest release from the Candian star this year. If you want to explore Diamond Cafe further we suggest you revisit his 2023 album Diamond Cuts, which you can stream HERE.
Chini
“Weight Of The World”
Not much is known about the Connecticut artist Chini except for the fact that he is quickly making a name for himself in the independent music space. Chini’s earliest song on Spotify was posted back in 2019 titled Young And Dumb, since then he has honed in on his skills and in 2024 he released his EP, One Day You’ll Understand. The opening track of the tape, Weight Of The World is definitely a highlight of the tape. The song sounds like an anthem in the making. The fast-paced beat mixed with the undertones of Chini lyrics makes this a perfect recipe for a banger hiding as a sleeper. The tape, One Day You’ll Understand spans a total of 5 songs and you can steam the tape HERE.
WHYTRI ft Chandler
“Lights Down Shawty”
This one is for the dancers. Massachusetts native is back with collaborator Chandler with “Lights Down Sharty” Immediately from the opening of the song, the beat forces you to move. WHYTRI has always done well with his beat selection, using the juxtaposition of his grungy-toned voice to create music that forces you to react with often fast-paced bass-heavy beats. But that does not come as a surprise because the NorthEast rapper has a background in dance. In 2024 WHYTRI released one other song, “Black Cody Rhodes” Before that he released a full-length project titled “Momma i Made Art: See Your Boy Is Not A Leader” which you can stream HERE. WHYTRI is currently performing on his tour “The Jetburn Tour” get tickets here.
Izzy Joy
“Romanticism”
Izzy Joy, famously known as a producer in the Connecticut music scene, has stepped out from behind the scenes and released his first single as an artist. His single Romanticism is now available to stream on Spotify and is entirely self-produced. One of the best things about a producer-turned artist is their mastery of sound, Romanticism already sounds like a current R&B hit. The song beautifully blends the use of the instruments with Izzy’s vocals so much so that before you realize what's going on you’ve hit the repeat button. Seeing as this is his first track, if you want to hear more about Izzy Joe you will have to hit the repeat button but stay tuned, I am sure Izzy Joy has something up his sleeve that will leave his fans and those new fans satisfied.
