By now you’ve heard of the name 4batz and if you haven't, I know you’ve seen the viral video of his freestyle performed for 4 Shooters Only “From The Block” one shot series that brings the meme “when the song doesn’t match the artist" to life. Hailing from the music powerhouse Dallas, Texas, 4batz looks like your everyday run of the mill current rap star, he comes equipped with gold slugs, a shiesty face mask, styrofoam cup and his homies menacingly standing behind him. However what sets 4batz apart from stereotype is the fact that he is not even a rapper! When 4batz opens his mouth, you’re immediately met with this ethereal melodic symphony of this genre bending R&B sound. It’s almost has if Brent Faiyaz has started singing at a higher octave. 4batz song, “act ii date @ 8” is the most recent release from the artist. Along with his earlier release "act 1: Stickers 99" serve has his entry into this "toxic R&B wave that so many new singers seem to have found a home in. With the conversations about the state hip hop aren't going anywhere soon, I completely advocate that artists adopt the traditional hip hop look all while being apart of other genres.
With not too much music under his resumes it’s super refreshing to see that 2024 is already hard at work at bringing us quality music. 4bratz released the visualizer for “act ii date@ 8” three weeks ago so if you hurry you’ll still be able to enjoy that “first listen” feeling!
